Introduction

In the cultural atmosphere of the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, you can appreciate the Chinese art and cultural exhibits in the Museum of Cultural Relics. The Heritage Museum belongs to the Institute of Chinese Culture of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. It is dedicated to the collection, preservation, research and exhibition of Chinese cultural relics such as paintings, calligraphy and different types of arts and crafts. It also regularly hosts cultural relics and archaeological exhibitions on different topics.

Accessibility description

The Chinese University Museum of Art only has a few barrier-free facilities, such as ramp entrances and exits, passages, and accessible toilets, but the design fails to fully consider the needs of wheelchairs/persons with reduced mobility. In most places, the passage width is moderate, and most places are equipped with ramps except for stairs. However, the ramps are steeper and it is more difficult for wheelchairs/persons with reduced mobility to get up and down.

 FG Tips

There are elevators in the exhibition halls 2 and 3 of the University Heritage Museum to reach all floors, while there is no elevator in the exhibition hall 1, so people in wheelchairs can only visit underground.

There is a shuttle bus in the university, but there is no elevator platform. Wheel friends can only take a recreational bus or a barrier-free taxi.
