Introduction

The earliest Khalsa Diwan Sikh in Hong Kong came from Punjab, India. In the 19th century, they served in the local British army and then came to Hong Kong with the army. The earliest Sikh temple in Hong Kong was built in 1901 and was named "Star Venerable Association". The temple was damaged by artillery fire twice during World War II. As the number of believers increased, the Sikh Temple was rebuilt and expanded several times to its current scale.

The Khalsa Diwan Sikh Temple  in Wan Chai is equipped with a number of barrier-free facilities, including lifts, accessible toilets, and ramps on all uneven places with high bottoms. The ramps are relatively flat, so wheelchair users can easily get on and off, and the facilities are suitable. Needed for wheelchair users.
